Village of Freeport
Freeport is a small village located on the eastern edge of Kent County. It is situated on the picturesque Coldwater River which provides excellent trout fishing for local outdoors men. The river winds its way into the Thormapple River a few miles to the southeast. The town contains a main street section that is a couple of blocks long with several small stores and businesses.
Freeport Homecoming is held each August and the day long event that brings out all of the village residents as well as many visitors. The day of FUN includes a Fireman's Breakfast, 5K Run, Car Show, Arts and Craft Show, Parade, Kids Events, Farmer's Market, Pie Eating Contest, Music, and many more events.
